Sorting Records

A Brief Overview

Orange Seed allows you to sort records using the following two methods.

  • Traditional Sort (Permanent) - Manually sort records keeping their order permanent.

  • Buoyancy (Temporary) - Temporarily boost a records importance in the order based on its weight and time since creation.

Normally, to “sort” records you want to use “Traditional Sort”. This is the most common method to sort records.

If you want to boost a record temporarily, you will want to use the “Buoyancy” method. This is not the same as a traditional sort and you should not depend on it to keep the records sorted in a specific order.

When you use the “Traditional Sort” method, it will ignore any “Buoyancy” weight assigned to the records.
