A Brief Overview
Categories are the primary way records are mapped to apps and websites. By utilizing categories to assign records to, a single record can be easily distributed across multiple apps, pages, and even websites.
The following chain shows how a record finally ends up on a website page
Records > Categories > Apps > Pages > Websites
Categories are common for all of your web sites. Making changes to categories here, will also impact categories for all web sites.
Categories are associated with a single feature. If you need to have the same category in both a “post” feature and an “event” feature, you must create the category for each feature.

Click on "Websites" > "Platform Settings" in the main navigation
Click on the "Categories" link
Click "<CHOOSE APP>" and then click on the "edit" link
Click on "Create a New Category"
Enter a “name” and an optional “description”
Set the “position” by selecting one of the following
Before - Place it before the chosen placement category
After - Place it after the chosen placement category
First Child - Place it as the first child of the placement category
Last Child - Place it as the last child of the placement category
Select the desired “placement category”
Click the “Save” button at the top of the page to save the category
Delete: Step-by-step guide
WARNING! Deleting a category may remove records from an app, page, and website. It will not delete the record however.
Click on "Websites" > "Platform Settings" in the main navigation
Click on the "Categories" link
Click "<CHOOSE APP>" and then click on the "edit" link
Click on the category you want to edit, click the delete link
Click the “OK” button in the “Delete This Record?” confirmation box
